SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 740
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Flower Mound Police and Fire Departments and all
volunteers who are contributing to the Backing the Badge event
taking place on June 13, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Backing the Badge is an all-day event organized by
the Flower Mound Summit Club and the Women of Flower Mound to give
residents the opportunity to thank the employees and volunteers
of the police and fire departments; and
WHEREAS, The event kicks off with a five-kilometer fun run
and then continues at Jake's Hilltop Park, where families can
enjoy live entertainment, children's activities, vendor booths,
and an array of food trucks in addition to the featured softball
game between the police and fire departments; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Flower Mound Police and Fire
Departments are committed to ensuring the safety and security of
residents, and they risk their own lives to do so; the community
benefits immensely from their efforts, and the Backing the Badge
event is an excellent opportunity for residents to express
gratitude for the hard work and dedication of their first
responders; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend the employees and volunteers of the
Flower Mound Police and Fire Departments for their many
contributions to the community and extend to all residents best wishes
for a successful Backing the Badge celebration; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a
memento of this special event.
