| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Martha Olvera, who is retiring at the close of the |

| 4 | 4 | | 2014-2015 school year after 37 years of service as an educator; |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, For the last 32 years, Martha Olvera has taught |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | students at Casis Elementary School; she is a highly respected |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | teacher who is known for her calm and reassuring demeanor and for |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | exceeding professional expectations; she often serves as an |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | interpreter for Spanish-speaking parents during meetings with |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the principal; she was the school's 2005 Teacher of the Year; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of her career, she has assisted |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | with a wide array of student programs and activities, and she |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | served for many years as the head of the school's first-grade |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | science department; students have greatly benefited from her |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | skillful teaching methods, her sincere concern for the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | individual, and her wise counsel and encouragement; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, She is a dedicated and resourceful educator who |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | has instilled in her students a love of learning, and she has |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | helped prepare countless young Texans for continued success on |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | their educational path; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend Martha Olvera on her exceptional |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | teaching career and her many contributions to Casis Elementary |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | School and extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|---|
