| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Martin Lopez of Falfurrias for his outstanding work in |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | honoring those who have served in the armed forces of the United |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | States of America; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, For more than 20 years, Mr. Lopez has been the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | driving force behind an effort to deliver and present United |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | States flags to military veterans and their families in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | recognition of their service; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Lopez established his program to deliver |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | all-weather flags to those who served in the military on July 4, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 1989; he began his work in Falfurrias but has since expanded his |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | efforts to include veterans in communities across South Texas, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | including Premont, Kingsville, Alice, Hebbronville, Corpus |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Christi, and Laredo; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A veteran of the United States Army who served in |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the late 1960s, Mr. Lopez has also worked to help numerous |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | veterans receive the medals and decorations to which they are |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | entitled; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Through his dedicated efforts, Martin Lopez has |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | touched the lives of countless veterans and their families, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and he is truly deserving of special recognition; now, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby commend Martin Lopez on his commitment to |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | honoring our nation's veterans and extend to him best wishes for |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
