SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 825
WHEREAS, When they married many years ago, Elinor and
Dennis Siple placed great faith and trust in one another, and
they have been amply rewarded, as they recently celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary; and
WHEREAS, Elinor Louise Josephine Mason and Dennis Wilson
Siple married in Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Dunstable,
Bedfordshire, England, on May 1, 1965; they had met one another
on a blind date while Mr. Siple was a member of the United States
Air Force stationed in England, and Mrs. Siple was a student at
Luton College; and
WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the
years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Siple have continued to
cherish traditional family values; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished couple has been blessed with a
wonderful family; their two children, eight grandchildren, and
six great-grandchildren have been a source of much pride and
joy; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their
love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and
sorrows of everyday living; their long and happy union is truly
an inspiration to all; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to Elinor and
Dennis Siple on their 50th wedding anniversary; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
