SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 9
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Navasota High School Rattlers football team, which
recently won the Class 4A Division I state championship title; and
WHEREAS, The Navasota Rattlers defeated the Argyle Eagles
with an exhilarating 42-35 win in double overtime at the AT&T
Stadium in Arlington; it was the team's second state championship
in the last three seasons; and
WHEREAS, These young athletes demonstrated great talent
and perseverance throughout the school year, and they ended the
season with a perfect 16-0 record; team members can take great
pride in their outstanding performance; and
WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of
head coach Lee Fedora, the Rattlers have developed exceptional
teamwork and discipline; and
WHEREAS, Navasota High School and the City of Navasota are
proud of the Rattlers for their hard work, their impressive
skills, and their fine sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend the Navasota High School Rattlers on
their successful season and congratulate them on winning the
Class 4A Division I state football championship; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
