| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, John Reddinger is graduating from The University |

| 3 | 3 | | of Texas at Austin on May 22, 2015, and he is completing the |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | inaugural Student Veterans in Texas Internship Program in the |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | office of State Senator José Menéndez; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A Marine Corps veteran, Mr. Reddinger enlisted in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2007 and served tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan during his |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | four years in the service, attaining the rank of corporal; he |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | received a Good Conduct Medal and he was awarded a Jean Perkins |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Foundation Combat Veteran Scholarship; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Reddinger is earning his bachelor's degree in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | English, with a minor in representations of war in film; during |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | his internship in the office of Senator Menéndez, he has been a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | point person for matters relating to veteran affairs and military |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | installations; this accomplished young man is also the volunteer |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | coordinator for the university's Student Veteran Association, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and he has benefited the wider community in the past as a driver |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | for Meals on Wheels; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Committed to making a positive difference in the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | lives of his fellow veterans, John Reddinger plans to pursue a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | career in advocacy and public policy, and in all his endeavors, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | he has demonstrated the qualities necessary to achieve this |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | worthy goal; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate John Reddinger on his graduation |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | from The University of Texas at Austin and on the completion of |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | his legislative internship and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | for continued success; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
