| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Major John C. Osborn, who is retiring from the United |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | States Army after 25 years of distinguished military service; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, During his years of service, Major Osborn served an |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | 18-month combat tour in Iraq, and from 2007 to 2010, he orchestrated |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | superior mission command of the Bassett Army Community Hospital |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | in Alaska; he later served as a senior medical plans and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | operations officer for the Command Surgeon at the First United |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | States Army Headquarters at Fort Sam Houston; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Since 2013, he has served as chief of current |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | operations in the Army Medical Department Center and School; in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | this position, he has effectively overseen the operation of daily |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | tasks and orders to ensure mission success and has been instrumental |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | in the growth and development of subordinate officers; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Major Osborn's experience and ability to manage |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | complicated operations, readiness, plans and mobilization issues |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | have contributed significantly to the United States Army Medical |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Department Center and School, the United States Medical Command, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and the United States Army; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, His meritorious performance of his duties has |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | been in keeping with the highest traditions of the military, and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | he is indeed deserving of recognition for his service to the nation; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby commend Major John C. Osborn for his patriotism |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and his outstanding service in the United States Army and extend |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
