SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 952 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Major John C. Osborn, who is retiring from the United States Army after 25 years of distinguished military service; and WHEREAS, During his years of service, Major Osborn served an 18-month combat tour in Iraq, and from 2007 to 2010, he orchestrated superior mission command of the Bassett Army Community Hospital in Alaska; he later served as a senior medical plans and operations officer for the Command Surgeon at the First United States Army Headquarters at Fort Sam Houston; and WHEREAS, Since 2013, he has served as chief of current operations in the Army Medical Department Center and School; in this position, he has effectively overseen the operation of daily tasks and orders to ensure mission success and has been instrumental in the growth and development of subordinate officers; and WHEREAS, Major Osborn's experience and ability to manage complicated operations, readiness, plans and mobilization issues have contributed significantly to the United States Army Medical Department Center and School, the United States Medical Command, and the United States Army; and WHEREAS, His meritorious performance of his duties has been in keeping with the highest traditions of the military, and he is indeed deserving of recognition for his service to the nation; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th Legislature, hereby commend Major John C. Osborn for his patriotism and his outstanding service in the United States Army and extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
