| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Glenna Rhea Bowman, who is retiring from the Office of |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | Court Administration after 30 years of distinguished service to |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | the state; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Glenna Bowman began her career with the state in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 1985 as an employee of the Office of the Comptroller of Public |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Accounts; she assisted with the development of the first |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | legislatively required Annual Financial Report and served as a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | project supervisor for the Uniform Statewide Accounting |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | System; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Between 1991 and 2001, she served as chief |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | financial officer for the Texas State Board of Public |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Accountancy, the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, and the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Texas Department of Agriculture; she was responsible for all |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | financial reporting, including the Annual Operating Budget and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the Performance Measures Report; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, She joined the Office of Court Administration in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | 2001; as chief financial officer, she has provided day-to-day |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | direction and guidance on financial, human resources, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | operational activities, and she has worked collaboratively with |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the Texas courts to develop a consolidated budget for the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislative Appropriation Request for each session; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, A highly respected financial administrator, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Glenna Bowman is a member of numerous professional organizations |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and has been recognized for excellence in her field; her presence |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | at the Office of Court Administration will be greatly missed; |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby commend Glenna Rhea Bowman for her years of |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | outstanding service with the Office of Court Administration and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | for her many contributions to the state and extend to her best |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
