SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 982
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Glenna Rhea Bowman, who is retiring from the Office of
Court Administration after 30 years of distinguished service to
the state; and
WHEREAS, Glenna Bowman began her career with the state in
1985 as an employee of the Office of the Comptroller of Public
Accounts; she assisted with the development of the first
legislatively required Annual Financial Report and served as a
project supervisor for the Uniform Statewide Accounting
System; and
WHEREAS, Between 1991 and 2001, she served as chief
financial officer for the Texas State Board of Public
Accountancy, the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, and the
Texas Department of Agriculture; she was responsible for all
financial reporting, including the Annual Operating Budget and
the Performance Measures Report; and
WHEREAS, She joined the Office of Court Administration in
2001; as chief financial officer, she has provided day-to-day
direction and guidance on financial, human resources, and
operational activities, and she has worked collaboratively with
the Texas courts to develop a consolidated budget for the
Legislative Appropriation Request for each session; and
WHEREAS, A highly respected financial administrator,
Glenna Bowman is a member of numerous professional organizations
and has been recognized for excellence in her field; her presence
at the Office of Court Administration will be greatly missed;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th
Legislature, hereby commend Glenna Rhea Bowman for her years of
outstanding service with the Office of Court Administration and
for her many contributions to the state and extend to her best
wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
