| 3 | 3 | | recognize Cathy Stephens, who is retiring from the Capital Area |

| 4 | 4 | | Metropolitan Planning Organization on May 29, 2015, after a |

| 5 | 5 | | 22-year career in public service; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Before joining this regional transportation |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | planning organization, Cathy Stephens served the state as an |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | employee of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Texas Department of Transportation; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, She joined the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Organization 14 years ago, and her wealth of experience helped |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | her succeed as its planning and environmental manager; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, During her tenure, she coordinated the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | development of the 2040 Regional Transportation Plan and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | cochaired the Clean Air Coalition Advisory Committee; she also |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | helped with the development and implementation of three regional |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | air-quality improvement plans; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Cathy Stephens is a respected leader in her field; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | she has handled her far-reaching responsibilities with |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | exceptional skill and dedication, and her presence at the Capital |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Area Metropolitan Planning Organization will be greatly missed; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby commend Cathy Stephens on her invaluable |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | leadership at the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Organization and on her many contributions to the state and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
