| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 11.151, Education Code, is amended by | |
| 11 | 11 | adding Subsection (d-1) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (d-1) Rules and bylaws adopted under Subsection (d) and any | |
| 13 | 13 | other written policies adopted by the trustees have the force of law | |
| 14 | 14 | in relation to the district, and the board of trustees, each | |
| 15 | 15 | trustee, and each school district employee shall comply with those | |
| 16 | 16 | rules, bylaws, and policies. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 18 | 18 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 19 | 19 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 20 | 20 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 21 | 21 | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
