114 AN ACT
125 relating to the authority of the asset management division of the
136 General Land Office to sell real property to a federally recognized
147 Indian tribe.
158 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
169 SECTION 1. Section 31.0672(a), Natural Resources Code, is
1710 amended to read as follows:
1811 (a) The division may directly sell to a political
1912 subdivision, [or] a development corporation organized under
2013 Subtitle C1, Title 12, Local Government Code, or a federally
2114 recognized Indian tribe, as listed by the United States secretary
2215 of the interior under 25 U.S.C. Section 5131, any real property
2316 owned by the state that the legislature has authorized or the
2417 governor has approved for sale under Subchapter E if the
2518 commissioner determines the sale is in the best interest of the
2619 state.
2720 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2821 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2922 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3023 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3124 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
