| 15 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 16 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 31.0672(a), Natural Resources Code, is |
|---|
| 17 | 10 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 18 | 11 | | (a) The division may directly sell to a political |
|---|
| 19 | 12 | | subdivision, [or] a development corporation organized under |
|---|
| 20 | 13 | | Subtitle C1, Title 12, Local Government Code, or a federally |
|---|
| 21 | 14 | | recognized Indian tribe, as listed by the United States secretary |
|---|
| 22 | 15 | | of the interior under 25 U.S.C. Section 5131, any real property |
|---|
| 23 | 16 | | owned by the state that the legislature has authorized or the |
|---|
| 24 | 17 | | governor has approved for sale under Subchapter E if the |
|---|
| 25 | 18 | | commissioner determines the sale is in the best interest of the |
|---|
| 26 | 19 | | state. |

| 27 | 20 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 28 | 21 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 29 | 22 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 30 | 23 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |

| 31 | 24 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
