| 11 | 11 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 12 | 12 | | SECTION 1. Chapter 204, Transportation Code, is amended by |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | adding Section 204.012 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Sec. 204.012. TRAVEL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM. (a) The |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | department by rule shall create and implement a travel certificate |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | program that includes issuance of a certificate by the department |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | to an individual for visiting various locations in this state. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (b) The program under Subsection (a) must include: |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (1) different location categories of certificates, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | such as "BBQ Boss," "Beer Hall Visitor," "Historic Courthouse |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Visitor," "Vineyard/Winery Visitor," "True Texan," "Beachcomber," |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | "Traveler," "Museum Visitor," and "Rodeo Visitor"; |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | (2) different levels of certificates within a location |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | category, such as issuance of a "Basic" certificate for visiting |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | locations in at least three regions of the state, issuance of an |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | "Advanced" certificate for visiting locations in at least five |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | regions of the state, and issuance of a "Master" certificate for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | visiting locations in at least seven regions of the state; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (3) on payment of a fee determined by the department, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | the issuance of a certificate by the department to an individual for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | a certain level within a location category. |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2018. |
