12 | 12 | | relating to the expiration of the dry cleaner environmental |

14 | 14 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

15 | 15 | | SECTION 1. Sections 374.253(a), (b), and (c), Health and |
---|
16 | 16 | | Safety Code, are amended to read as follows: |

17 | 17 | | (a) This chapter expires on September 1, 2050 [2021]. |
---|
18 | 18 | | (b) A corrective action, including any administrative |
---|
19 | 19 | | duties associated with the action, for which remediation of a |
---|
20 | 20 | | contaminated site has begun before September 1, 2050 [2021], shall |
---|
21 | 21 | | be completed in accordance with this chapter using money from the |
---|
22 | 22 | | fund, to the extent possible, but money may not be collected for or |
---|
23 | 23 | | added to the fund on or after that date. |
---|
24 | 24 | | (c) The commission may continue a corrective action that has |
---|
25 | 25 | | not progressed beyond the investigative or planning stage after |
---|
26 | 26 | | September 1, 2050 [2021], to the extent money from the fund is |
---|
27 | 27 | | available. |
---|
28 | 28 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
