1010 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1111 AN ACT
1212 relating to the expiration of the dry cleaner environmental
1313 response program.
1414 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1515 SECTION 1. Sections 374.253(a), (b), and (c), Health and
1616 Safety Code, are amended to read as follows:
1717 (a) This chapter expires on September 1, 2050 [2021].
1818 (b) A corrective action, including any administrative
1919 duties associated with the action, for which remediation of a
2020 contaminated site has begun before September 1, 2050 [2021], shall
2121 be completed in accordance with this chapter using money from the
2222 fund, to the extent possible, but money may not be collected for or
2323 added to the fund on or after that date.
2424 (c) The commission may continue a corrective action that has
2525 not progressed beyond the investigative or planning stage after
2626 September 1, 2050 [2021], to the extent money from the fund is
2727 available.
2828 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
