A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to a client's access to certain records of hearing
instrument fitters and dispensers.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 402.154, Occupations Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (h-1) to read as follows:
(h-1) Notwithstanding Subsection (h), the department on
request shall provide a copy of a license holder's records obtained
by the department as described by Subsection (h) to a person who is
or was a client of the license holder if the records pertain to that
person and the person is or was involved in a complaint against the
license holder.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
