Click here to see the committee vote A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to reporting requirements for investigations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation against residents of certain health facilities. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 260A.007(k), Health and Safety Code, is amended to read as follows: (k) If the department determines the report of abuse, neglect, or exploitation is substantiated at the conclusion of the investigation, the [The] department shall make a complete final written report of the investigation and submit the report and its recommendations to the [district attorney and, if a law enforcement agency has not investigated the report of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other complaint, to the] appropriate law enforcement agency.
