66 AN ACT
77 relating to the expiration of an instructor approval letter issued
88 by the Texas Private Security Board.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Sections 1702.301(g) and (h), Occupations Code,
1111 are amended to read as follows:
1212 (g) A letter of authority[,] or a school approval [or school
1313 instructor approval] letter issued by the board[,] expires on the
1414 first anniversary of the date of issuance.
1515 (h) A license, registration, instructor approval letter, or
1616 endorsement issued under this chapter, other than one specified in
1717 this section, expires on the date specified by this chapter or by
1818 board rule.
1919 SECTION 2. Section 1702.301, Occupations Code, as amended
2020 by this Act, applies only to an instructor approval letter issued or
2121 renewed on or after the effective date of this Act. An instructor
2222 approval letter issued or renewed before the effective date of this
2323 Act is governed by the law in effect on the date the letter was
2424 issued or renewed, and the former law is continued in effect for
2525 that purpose.
2626 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
