115 relating to the preservation, maintenance, and improvement of the
126 Capitol and the Capitol grounds.
137 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
148 SECTION 1. Section 443.030, Government Code, is amended to
159 read as follows:
1610 Sec. 443.030. SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS. (a) The board may
1711 establish, maintain, and participate in the operation of one or
1812 more organizations of persons whose purpose is to raise funds for or
1913 provide services or other benefits to the board. The [Such an]
2014 organization may be incorporated as a Texas nonprofit corporation.
2115 (b) The board shall contract with a nonprofit corporation
2216 formed to assist in the preservation, maintenance, and improvement
2317 of the Capitol and the Capitol grounds to develop and implement a
2418 plan for the solicitation and acceptance of gifts, grants, devises,
2519 and bequests of money, other property, and services to be used to
2620 preserve, maintain, and improve the Capitol and the Capitol
2721 grounds. The board may contract with a nonprofit corporation
2822 described by Subsection (a) or another nonprofit corporation.
2923 SECTION 2. The State Preservation Board shall enter into
3024 the contract required by Section 443.030, Government Code, as
3125 amended by this Act, not later than September 1, 2018.
3226 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
