9- A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
104 AN ACT
115 relating to access by the division of workers' compensation to
126 certain designated doctor contracts under the workers'
137 compensation system.
148 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
159 SECTION 1. Section 408.1225, Labor Code, is amended by
1610 adding Subsections (g) and (h) to read as follows:
1711 (g) On request of the division, a designated doctor shall
1812 provide the division with a copy of any contract that is:
1913 (1) between the designated doctor and an authorized
2014 agent of the doctor; and
2115 (2) for services provided by the agent related to the
2216 designated doctor's duties, including scheduling, billing, and
2317 organizing medical records.
2418 (h) A contract provided to the division under Subsection (g)
2519 is not subject to disclosure under Chapter 552, Government Code.
2620 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
