The bill would require general academic teaching institutions, medical and dental units, public junior colleges, public state colleges and public technical institutes to provide a web site with mental health resources available to students, whether or not those resources were provided by the institution. An institution would be required to certify compliance with this requirement to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.The bill would take effect September 1, 2017. An institution would be required to meet the bill's requirements by December 1, 2017. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
