97 relating to the public transportation advisory committee.
108 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
119 SECTION 1. Sections 455.004(b) and (c), Transportation
1210 Code, are amended to read as follows:
1311 (b) The commission shall appoint the members of the
1412 committee. The committee must include at least [shall be appointed
1513 by the governor, the lieutenant governor, and the speaker of the
1614 house of representatives, who shall each appoint]:
1715 (1) two members [one member] who represent
1816 [represents] a diverse cross-section of public transportation
1917 providers;
2018 (2) two members [one member] who represent
2119 [represents] a diverse cross-section of transportation users; and
2220 (3) two members [one member] who represent
2321 [represents] the general public.
2422 (c) A member serves at the pleasure of the commission
2523 [officer who appointed the member]. A member is not entitled to
2624 compensation for service on the committee but is entitled to
2725 reimbursement for reasonable expenses the member incurs in
2826 performing committee duties.
2927 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3028 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3129 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3230 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3331 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
