9- A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
104 AN ACT
115 relating to the number of hours of work experience required of a
126 plumber's apprentice to take an examination for a plumber's
137 license.
148 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
159 SECTION 1. Section 1301.354, Occupations Code, is amended
1610 by adding Subsection (c-1) to read as follows:
1711 (c-1) At the applicant's request, the board may credit an
1812 applicant under Subsection (b) with up to 250 hours of the work
1913 experience required before taking an examination if the applicant
2014 has completed a coherent sequence of courses in the construction
2115 trade that are offered through a career and technical education
2216 program that is approved by the State Board of Education.
2317 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2418 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2519 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2620 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2721 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
