| 13 | 7 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 14 | 8 | SECTION 1. Section 36.004, Health and Safety Code, is | |
| 15 | 9 | amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: | |
| 16 | 10 | (b-1) The rules must allow an individual who attends a | |
| 17 | 11 | public or private school to be screened using photoscreening to | |
| 18 | 12 | detect vision disorders. | |
| 19 | 13 | SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date | |
| 20 | 14 | of this Act, the executive commissioner of the Health and Human | |
| 21 | 15 | Services Commission shall adopt the rules necessary to implement | |
| 22 | 16 | the changes in law made by this Act. | |
