| 10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 2267, Government Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 2267.0601 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 2267.0601. USE OF STATE MONEY. To the extent the | |
| 14 | 14 | payments are directly related to a qualifying project that serves | |
| 15 | 15 | the public purpose of this chapter, a responsible governmental | |
| 16 | 16 | entity may use state money to pay the following: | |
| 17 | 17 | (1) a lease payment; | |
| 18 | 18 | (2) a service payment; | |
| 19 | 19 | (3) a user fee; or | |
| 20 | 20 | (4) debt service. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 22 | 22 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 23 | 23 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 24 | 24 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 25 | 25 | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
