9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Title 11, Chapter 209, Property Code, is amended | |
11 | 11 | by adding Section 209.0065 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 209.0065. ELIGIBILITY TO PURCHASE LOT. (a) No | |
13 | 13 | individual, company, or corporation may purchase more than one lot | |
14 | 14 | or tract of land within a subdivision until all assessments, fines, | |
15 | 15 | or other fees related to ownership, as defined in the deeds, | |
16 | 16 | restrictions, recorded documents, or public records of the | |
17 | 17 | association or subdivision are paid in full. | |
18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
19 | 19 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
20 | 20 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
21 | 21 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
22 | 22 | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
