 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 AN ACT
 relating to the eligibility of an individual, company, or
 corporation to purchase lots within an association or subdivision
 under the Texas Residential Property Owners Protection Act.
 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
 SECTION 1.  Title 11, Chapter 209, Property Code, is amended
 by adding Section 209.0065 to read as follows:
 Sec. 209.0065.  ELIGIBILITY TO PURCHASE LOT.  (a) No
 individual, company, or corporation may purchase more than one lot
 or tract of land within a subdivision until all assessments, fines,
 or other fees related to ownership, as defined in the deeds,
 restrictions, recorded documents, or public records of the
 association or subdivision are paid in full.
 SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
 Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
