                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 85TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            April 17, 2017      TO: Honorable Four Price, Chair, House Committee on Public Health      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:HB492 by Craddick (Relating to a waiver for certain programs from youth camp licensing.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would allow the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) to grant a waiver for certain programs from youth camp licensing. The bill specifies a waiver granted by DSHS is valid until revoked by the department and allows an appeal if a waiver is denied or revoked. The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to adopt rules to implement the provisions of the bill. According to DSHS and HHSC, any costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill can be absorbed within existing resources.  Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
