10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 29.022(b), Education Code, is amended to | |
12 | 12 | read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (b) A school or campus that places a video camera in a | |
14 | 14 | classroom or other special education setting in accordance with | |
15 | 15 | Subsection (a) shall operate and maintain the camera in the | |
16 | 16 | classroom or setting as long as the classroom or setting continues | |
17 | 17 | to satisfy the requirements under Subsection (a). If the classroom | |
18 | 18 | or other special education setting no longer satisfies the | |
19 | 19 | requirements under Subsection (a), the school or campus must | |
20 | 20 | immediately remove the video camera from the classroom or setting. | |
21 | 21 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
22 | 22 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
23 | 23 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
24 | 24 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
25 | 25 | Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
