| 14 | 7 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 15 | 8 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 16 | 9 | | is amended by adding Section 225.123 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 17 | 10 | | Sec. 225.123. OFFICER ENDY EKPANYA MEMORIAL HIGHWAY. (a) |
|---|
| 18 | 11 | | The portion of Farm-to-Market Road 518 in Pearland between its |
|---|
| 19 | 12 | | intersection with State Highway 35 and Sunset Meadows Drive is |
|---|
| 20 | 13 | | designated as the Officer Endy Ekpanya Memorial Highway. |
|---|
| 21 | 14 | | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: |
|---|
| 22 | 15 | | (1) design and construct markers indicating the |
|---|
| 23 | 16 | | designation as the Officer Endy Ekpanya Memorial Highway and any |
|---|
| 24 | 17 | | other appropriate information; and |
|---|
| 25 | 18 | | (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at |
|---|
| 26 | 19 | | appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. |

| 27 | 20 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017. |
