104 AN ACT
115 relating to the confidentiality of certain information stored as
126 part of the preparation of campaign finance reports required to be
137 filed with the clerk of certain counties or municipalities.
148 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
159 SECTION 1. Section 254.0401, Election Code, is amended by
1610 adding Subsection (g) to read as follows:
1711 (g) Electronic report data saved in a temporary storage
1812 location of the authority with whom the report is filed for later
1913 retrieval and editing before the report is filed is confidential
2014 and may not be disclosed. After the report is filed with the
2115 authority, the information disclosed in the filed report is public
2216 information to the extent provided by this title.
2317 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2017.
