| 9 | 10 | | Diaz served his country during the Korean War, and he was stationed |

| 10 | 11 | | in Germany; upon his return home, he attended Pan American College |

| 11 | 12 | | and earned his degree in accounting; he went on to work at Tide |

| 12 | 13 | | Products for 30 years, and he later retired from Wilbur-Ellis, at |

| 13 | 14 | | age 65; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Diaz married the former Minerva Ozuna on |

| 15 | 16 | | February 11, 1956, and over the course of their 60 years together, |

| 16 | 17 | | they had the privilege of watching their family grow to include |

| 17 | 18 | | three children, David and his wife, Judy, Rene and his wife, Arlene, |

| 18 | 19 | | and Elisa Diaz, and three grandchildren, Jacob, Alissa, and |

| 19 | 20 | | Abigail; and |

| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Diaz is further survived by his sister, Elena |

| 21 | 22 | | Diaz Ramos, and his siblings-in-law, Santos Roel Ozuna and his |

| 22 | 23 | | wife, Tammie, Criselda Ozuna, Victoria O. Gadd, and Viola O. Mathis |

| 23 | 24 | | and her husband, Dennis, as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, After their children were grown, Mr. and Mrs. Diaz |

| 25 | 26 | | enjoyed traveling to national parks across the country, with |

| 26 | 27 | | Mr. Diaz doing all the driving; and |

| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, While the death of Salvador Sanchez Diaz brings |

| 28 | 29 | | great sorrow to his family and friends, he will forever be |

| 29 | 30 | | remembered with great admiration and affection by all those who |

| 30 | 31 | | held him dear; now, therefore, be it |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the 85th Legislature of the State of Texas |
