| 11 | 12 | | feeding industry in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico; and |

| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The area served by TCFA is the largest |

| 13 | 14 | | cattle-feeding region in the United States, feeding and marketing |

| 14 | 15 | | approximately 6 million head of cattle each year and producing 28 |

| 15 | 16 | | percent of the nation's fed-cattle supply; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In the past 50 years, TCFA-area feed yards have fed |

| 17 | 18 | | and marketed some 275 million head of cattle, which produced |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | roughly 125 billion pounds of beef, or the equivalent of 500 billion |

| 19 | 20 | | quarter-pound hamburgers; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Beef from TCFA feed yards is highly sought after |

| 21 | 22 | | across the country and around the world, and the annual economic |

| 22 | 23 | | impact of cattle feeding on the State of Texas alone is in the |

| 23 | 24 | | billions of dollars; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Cattle Feeders Association plays a dynamic |

| 25 | 26 | | and vital role in the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and the |

| 26 | 27 | | association's members may indeed take great pride in their half |

| 27 | 28 | | century of achievement; now, therefore, be it |
