| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Coach Raul Munoz, a physical education teacher at |

| 7 | 8 | | finalist for a 2017 H-E-B Excellence in Education Award in the |

| 8 | 9 | | Leadership category; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, After beginning his teaching career more than 18 |

| 10 | 11 | | years ago, Coach Munoz has dedicated himself to introducing |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | children to the positive benefits of physical fitness, and he has |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | demonstrated an outstanding ability to keep students engaged by |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | creating innovative lessons tailored to their individual needs; he |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | was previously recognized by the school community with the Evans |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Teacher of the Year Award; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Coach Munoz has also participated in and facilitated |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | numerous extracurricular activities for students at Evans |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Elementary, many of whom are classified as economically |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | disadvantaged or at-risk; last year, he organized a tennis event |

| 20 | 21 | | that paired children and teachers for doubles matches, and he has |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | also pursued a grant that would enable Evans students to take part |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | in the district swim program; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Raul Munoz has distinguished |

| 24 | 25 | | himself as an educator of tremendous passion, creativity, and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | commitment, and he has set a standard of leadership to which all in |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Raul Munoz on his selection as a |

| 29 | 30 | | finalist for a 2017 H-E-B Excellence in Education Award and extend |
