| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Dolores Webb is retiring from the Birdville |

| 6 | 7 | | Independent School District board of trustees in 2017, concluding |

| 7 | 8 | | 27 years of outstanding service to that body; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, First elected as a trustee in 1990, Ms. Webb has |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | served five terms as president of the board and has been vice |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | president and secretary multiple times as well; she completed the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Leadership TASB program sponsored by the Texas Association of |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | School Boards in 1995, and she also holds the Master Trustee |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | designation; in 2014, the Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | presented her with its Excalibur Award in recognition of her steady |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | leadership and dedication in public office; she has further |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | benefited her community as a member of the Northeast Richland Lions |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Club and Legacy Church of Christ; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Webb is a lifelong resident of Tarrant County |

| 19 | 20 | | and a proud member of the Richland High School Class of 1964; she |

| 20 | 21 | | graduated from North Texas State University with a bachelor's |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | degree in English and went on to receive a master's degree in public |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | school administration; after teaching English in Birdville ISD for |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | 11 years, she served the district for 6 years as an assistant |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | principal at the secondary level; she changed careers in 1987 and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | was employed as a State Farm Insurance agent until her retirement in |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | 2013; and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Ms. Webb has enjoyed the enduring |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | support of her husband, Roger Webb, who is a retired Birdville ISD |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | teacher; she takes great pride in her three daughters, Amy Webb |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | Norred, Alicia Webb Edwards, and Andrea Webb Bradshaw, and in her |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | eight grandchildren, Cade, Alec, Nealie, Nick, Cole, Madison, Drew, |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | and Austin; and |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | WHEREAS, Those Texans who give freely of their time and |

| 34 | 35 | | talents to advance public education make a positive difference in |
|---|
| 35 | 36 | | their communities, and over the course of her long tenure on the |

| 36 | 37 | | school board, Dolores Webb has earned the lasting respect and |
|---|
| 37 | 38 | | appreciation of her fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 38 | 39 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 39 | 40 | | Legislature hereby honor Dolores Webb for her 27 years of service as |

| 40 | 41 | | a trustee of the Birdville Independent School District and extend |
|---|
| 41 | 42 | | to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |

| 42 | 43 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
