| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Jonanna |

| 6 | 7 | | Young George of Lubbock, who passed away on March 1, 2017, at the |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Hazel and O. W. Young, the former |

| 9 | 10 | | Jonanna Young was born in Crosbyton on February 11, 1941; she grew |

| 10 | 11 | | up in West Texas, living in a number of different towns, and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | graduated from Spur High School; while attending Texas Tech |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | University, she met the love of her life, Bobby Rex George, and they |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | married in 1959; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The Georges became the parents of three children, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | David Rex, Nancy Carol, and Sarah Margaret; over the years, |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Mrs. George knew the joy of welcoming into her family four |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | grandchildren, Amanda, Meghan, Tyler, and Kyle, as well as three |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | great-grandchildren, Hadley, Barrett, and Harrison; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A woman of strong faith, Mrs. George was an active |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | member of Second Baptist Church and served the congregation as a |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | deacon; she treasured the caring fellowship of her church family |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | and especially the members of her Covenant Sunday school class; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Jonanna George lived a rich and purposeful life |

| 24 | 25 | | centered on her faith and her family, and she will long be |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | remembered with deep affection by all who knew her; now, therefore, |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 28 | 29 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jonanna Young |
