45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Jonanna
67 Young George of Lubbock, who passed away on March 1, 2017, at the
78 age of 76; and
89 WHEREAS, The daughter of Hazel and O. W. Young, the former
910 Jonanna Young was born in Crosbyton on February 11, 1941; she grew
1011 up in West Texas, living in a number of different towns, and
1112 graduated from Spur High School; while attending Texas Tech
1213 University, she met the love of her life, Bobby Rex George, and they
1314 married in 1959; and
1415 WHEREAS, The Georges became the parents of three children,
1516 David Rex, Nancy Carol, and Sarah Margaret; over the years,
1617 Mrs. George knew the joy of welcoming into her family four
1718 grandchildren, Amanda, Meghan, Tyler, and Kyle, as well as three
1819 great-grandchildren, Hadley, Barrett, and Harrison; and
1920 WHEREAS, A woman of strong faith, Mrs. George was an active
2021 member of Second Baptist Church and served the congregation as a
2122 deacon; she treasured the caring fellowship of her church family
2223 and especially the members of her Covenant Sunday school class; and
2324 WHEREAS, Jonanna George lived a rich and purposeful life
2425 centered on her faith and her family, and she will long be
2526 remembered with deep affection by all who knew her; now, therefore,
2627 be it
2728 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2829 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jonanna Young
2930 George and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her passing;
3031 and, be it further
3132 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3233 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
3334 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jonanna
3435 Young George.
