 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service has
 drawn to a close with the death of the Honorable Guadalupe Ayala of
 San Benito, who passed away on February 25, 2017, at the age of 55;
 and
 WHEREAS, The son of Francisco and Tomasa Ayala, Guadalupe
 Ayala was born in 1961 in San Benito, and he grew up with four
 sisters, Micaela, Natividad, Senaida, and Petra, and six brothers,
 Erasmo, Frank, David, Victor, Joe, and Mike; after graduating from
 high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Ayala subsequently returned to his hometown and
 began a career with the San Benito Police Department that spanned 23
 years; he worked as a dispatcher before graduating from the police
 academy, and over the course of his distinguished tenure with the
 department, he was recognized by the FBI for arresting two suspects
 on its most wanted list and was twice awarded the Medal of Valor for
 lifesaving acts; he left the department in 2012 and was elected
 Cameron County justice of the peace for Precinct 3, Place 1, two
 years later; sustained by a deep faith, he was also an associate
 pastor at Faith Pleases God Church in Harlingen; and
 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Judge Ayala enjoyed the love
 and support of his wife of 33 years, Elisa, and he was the proud
 father of three children, Vanessa Ayala, Guadalupe Ayala Jr., and
 Cecilia Espinoza; he was later blessed with four grandchildren,
 David Moody and Ariana Joy, Alina Grace, and Kaylie Espinoza; and
 WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family, his faith, and his
 community, Guadalupe Ayala made a positive difference in the lives
 of his loved ones and fellow citizens alike, and his contributions
 will be fondly remembered for years to come; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of the Honorable
 Guadalupe Ayala and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his
 passing; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns on this day, it do so in memory of
 Guadalupe Ayala.
