56 WHEREAS, The annual Breast Fest Charity Cook-Off at Buffalo
67 Springs Lake in Lubbock offers attendees the opportunity to sample
78 delicious barbecue while benefiting a worthy cause; and
89 WHEREAS, Hosted by Ribbons of Love, the Breast Fest Charity
910 Cook-Off is an International Barbeque Cookers Association
1011 sanctioned event, and it is a true community effort, with
1112 assistance being provided by Lubbock County, the BBQ SuperStars
1213 Sports Network, and corporate sponsors from the surrounding area;
1314 proceeds support breast cancer research and patients as well as a
1415 scholarship fund for a high school senior whose life has been
1516 impacted by the disease; and
1617 WHEREAS, This culinary contest allows barbecue chefs from
1718 around the region to put their skills to the test as they vie for
1819 cash prizes and bragging rights in a range of categories; and
1920 WHEREAS, The Breast Fest Charity Cook-Off is a
2021 much-anticipated get-together that promotes fun, fellowship, and
2122 healthy competition while contributing to the fight against breast
2223 cancer, and this exceptional fund-raiser is indeed deserving of
2324 special recognition; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby commemorate the Breast Fest Charity Cook-Off and
2627 extend to the competition's organizers, participants, and guests
2728 sincere best wishes for a memorable event.
