H.R. No. 1194 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Chief Don Crowson of the Arlington Fire Department was presented with a 2017 Dr. Nathan Davis Award for Outstanding Government Service by the American Medical Association on February 28 at a banquet in Washington, D.C.; and WHEREAS, The highest honor bestowed by the American Medical Association, the accolade pays tribute to elected officials and government employees who have made significant contributions toward the advancement of public health; and WHEREAS, Chief Crowson, a 34-year veteran of the department, was recognized for his leadership of AFD's Community Paramedic Program, which provides preventive care to patients inside their homes in an effort to reduce demand on the EMS system and cost to the city, hospitals, and local residents; and WHEREAS, Through his dedication to serving, protecting, and improving the quality of life for his fellow citizens, Chief Don Crowson has made a positive difference in his community, and he is indeed deserving of recognition for his many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Chief Don Crowson on his receipt of a 2017 Dr. Nathan Davis Award for Outstanding Government Service from the American Medical Association and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Chief Crowson as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
