 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Pragati Bannerjee has been named the 2017 Secondary
 Teacher of the Year in the Corpus Christi Independent School
 District; and
 WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
 become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
 who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
 in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
 WHEREAS, A mathematics teacher at Roy Miller High School,
 Ms. Bannerjee has worked in education at the middle school,
 secondary, and college undergraduate levels for nearly two decades
 and is admired by her peers in the profession for her deep
 understanding of the course subject matter, her high expectations
 for her classes, and her willingness to go above and beyond for her
 students; this highly accomplished professional holds two
 bachelor's degrees and two master's degrees from universities in
 India, and she recently completed a master's degree in mathematics
 from Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and
 WHEREAS, Pragati Bannerjee exemplifies the passion,
 determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
 best teachers, and she has set an example of excellence to which all
 in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Pragati Bannerjee on her selection
 as the 2017 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Corpus Christi
 Independent School District and extend to her sincere best wishes
 for continued success with her important work; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Bannerjee as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
