45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Charles Anders, a science teacher at Robstown Early
67 College High School, was named a finalist for the 2016-2017
78 Secondary Teacher of the Year award in the Robstown Independent
89 School District; and
910 WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
1011 become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
1112 who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
1213 in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
1314 WHEREAS, A veteran educator of more than half a century,
1415 including eight years with Robstown ISD, Mr. Anders teaches classes
1516 in chemistry, biology, anatomy/physiology, and integrated physics
1617 and chemistry; he played a key role in greatly increasing the
1718 percentage of RISD students who passed the TAKS science exam, and
1819 his students have selected him as an Educator Hero on three
1920 occasions; and
2021 WHEREAS, Charles Anders exemplifies the passion,
2122 determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
2223 best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all
2324 in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby congratulate Charles Anders on his selection as
2627 a finalist for the 2016-2017 Robstown ISD Secondary Teacher of the
2728 Year award and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
2829 success with his important work; and, be it further
2930 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3031 prepared for Mr. Anders as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3132 House of Representatives.
