45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The certain knowledge of a life well lived may help
67 comfort the family and friends of Charles Ray Wilder Sr., who passed
78 away on March 25, 2017, at the age of 61; and
89 WHEREAS, Charles Wilder was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on
910 February 10, 1956, to Lillian Wilder and Luther Wingard; a graduate
1011 of Tipton Street High School in Kosciusko, Mississippi, he worked
1112 as a brick mason, and in his leisure hours, he enjoyed dancing and
1213 spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and barbecuing; and
1314 WHEREAS, Mr. Wilder shared a rewarding relationship with his
1415 wife of 27 years, the former Beverly Terry, until her passing;
1516 fortunate enough to find love again, he married the former Mae
1617 Johnson on April 8, 2015; he took immense pride in his five
1718 children, Shauntel, Kevin, Charles, Harold, and John, and his three
1819 stepsons, Orlando, Damon, and the late Tyran Johnson, and his
1920 family eventually grew to include two additional generations; and
2021 WHEREAS, A devoted husband and father and a true friend to
2122 many, Charles Wilder treasured the richness that each day brought
2223 during his time on this earth, and he will forever hold a special
2324 place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
2425 be it
2526 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
2627 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Charles Ray Wilder
2728 Sr. and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to
2829 his wife, Mae Wilder; to his children, Shauntel Malone and her
2930 husband, David, Kevin Terry and his wife, Imesia, Charles Wilder
3031 Jr. and his wife, Artesia, Harold Wilder and his wife, Farrah, and
3132 John Wilder; to his stepsons, Orlando and Damon Johnson; to his
3233 grandchildren, Darius Kimbrough, Anissa, Kentavious, and Ma'Kylee
3334 Terry, Derrick Fletcher Jr., Kaleb Malone, Seth, Chelsey, Morgan,
3435 Jayden, Janiyah, and "Baby" Wilder, and Harold Wilder Jr.; to his
3536 five step-grandchildren; to his great-grandson, Jeremiah Moore; to
3637 his father, Luther Wingard, and his wife, Vernestine; to his
3738 sisters, JoAnn Guyton, Margaret, Sharon, Wendy, Kathy, Demertha,
3839 Mertiseen, and Ladon Wilder, Tasha Ferguson and her husband,
3940 Kenneth, Linda Rimmer, Teresa Carter and her husband, Glenn, and
4041 Debra, Tracy, and Trameshia Wingard; to his brothers, Ricky, Jason,
4142 James, and Ray Wilder, and Tony, Tim, and Stacy Wingard; and to his
4243 many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
4344 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4445 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4546 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Charles Ray
4647 Wilder Sr.
