| 10 | 11 | | 82 in Gainesville on that fateful day, Ms. Franklin and Ms. Cooper |

| 11 | 12 | | heard shouts for help and hurried outside the store, where they |

| 12 | 13 | | found a 50-year-old man who had fallen unconscious and stopped |

| 13 | 14 | | breathing; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The two women, who are both CPR certified, |

| 15 | 16 | | immediately began performing chest compressions and rescue |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | breathing on the stricken man, and after reviving him, they |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | continued to attend to him until paramedics arrived; the incident, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | which was later determined to be a severe heart attack, left the man |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | in a coma for more than a week; thanks to the women's quick and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | effective response, the Sanger resident eventually began to |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | recuperate and regain his strength; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, In the midst of a crisis, Pamela Franklin and Hailey |

| 23 | 24 | | Cooper remained calm and took decisive action to save the life of a |

| 24 | 25 | | fellow Texan, and it is indeed appropriate that they be honored for |

| 25 | 26 | | their exemplary actions; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
