H.R. No. 1456 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by only a select few, and the attainment of this significant honor by Kody Hermes of Lindsay heralds a future bright with opportunity and promise; and WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has mastered a number of important skills in his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he has earned 35 merit badges requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, personal fitness, and environmental science, and he has gained experience in leadership and teamwork while undertaking his Eagle Scout project, which involved constructing a dog run at Noah's Ark Animal Shelter in Gainesville; and WHEREAS, The son of Kurt and Amy Hermes, Mr. Hermes is currently a junior at Lindsay High School; he hopes to study engineering in college; and WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Kody Hermes has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the Boy Scouts organization and its ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Kody Hermes on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Hermes as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
