 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, In the spirit of service and remembrance, members of
 the student organization BUILD at Texas A&M University are carrying
 out a large-scale international charitable project with the
 potential to impact thousands of lives; and
 WHEREAS, Founded in 2012, the association is dedicated to
 unifying the Texas A&M student body through construction projects
 that benefit individuals in need; the most recent effort involved
 transforming 12 40-foot shipping containers into Texas Aggie
 Medical Clinics that were then deployed to communities around the
 globe; this initiative paid tribute to the memory of the 12 Aggies
 who lost their lives in the 1999 Bonfire tragedy; and
 WHEREAS, During a three-year period, BUILD enlisted the
 efforts of approximately 3,500 student volunteers and raised more
 than $300,000 in donations; the 12 Texas Aggie Medical Clinics
 constructed by the group will provide much-needed access to medical
 care for more than 100,000 people in nine countries across four
 continents; and
 WHEREAS, By taking part in this worthy endeavor, the men and
 women of BUILD have demonstrated the compassion and ingenuity that
 are synonymous with the student community of Texas A&M, and they may
 take pride in the positive impact that their contributions have
 made; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
 Legislature hereby recognize the students of BUILD and all those
 who have given support to this project for their valuable work and
 extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
