| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Roxana Ybarra of Robert Driscoll Elementary School |

| 6 | 7 | | has been named a finalist for the 2016-2017 Elementary Teacher of |

| 7 | 8 | | the Year award in the Robstown Independent School District; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |

| 9 | 10 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Since joining Robstown ISD in 1999, Ms. Ybarra has |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | worked with five grade levels at three different campuses, and she |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | was designated the Robstown ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | the San Pedro Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2008-2009; she |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | currently teaches bilingual math and science to second and third |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | grade students at Driscoll Elementary; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Roxana Ybarra exemplifies the passion, |

| 19 | 20 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |

| 21 | 22 | | in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |

| 23 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Roxana Ybarra on her selection as a |

| 24 | 25 | | finalist for the 2016-2017 Elementary Teacher of the Year award in |
