H.R. No. 1475
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Roxana Ybarra of Robert Driscoll Elementary School
has been named a finalist for the 2016-2017 Elementary Teacher of
the Year award in the Robstown Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
WHEREAS, Since joining Robstown ISD in 1999, Ms. Ybarra has
worked with five grade levels at three different campuses, and she
was designated the Robstown ISD Elementary Teacher of the Year and
the San Pedro Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2008-2009; she
currently teaches bilingual math and science to second and third
grade students at Driscoll Elementary; and
WHEREAS, Roxana Ybarra exemplifies the passion,
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all
in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Roxana Ybarra on her selection as a
finalist for the 2016-2017 Elementary Teacher of the Year award in
the Robstown Independent School District and extend to her sincere
best wishes for continued success with her important work; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Ybarra as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
