H.R. No. 1481
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Marley has been named the 2016-2017
Teacher of the Year at West Oso Junior High School in Corpus
Christi; and
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
WHEREAS, Now in her fourth year as an educator, Elizabeth
Marley teaches seventh grade English language arts; she strives to
broaden her students' horizons while helping them to improve their
reading and writing skills; a graduate of Texas A&M
University--Corpus Christi, she holds a bachelor's degree in
business administration with a major in marketing; and
WHEREAS, Elizabeth Marley exemplifies the passion,
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all
in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Elizabeth Marley on her selection
as the 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year at West Oso Junior High School
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her
important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Marley as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
