| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Clint Greenwood was born on |

| 10 | 11 | | December 22, 1959, to George and Mary Katherine Greenwood; he |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | attended Rice University, where he played on the Owls football team |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | and earned his bachelor's degree in 1983, and he earned a juris |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | doctor degree from South Texas College of Law in 1986; he began his |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | career with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, and in |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | 1989, he established a law practice focused on representing police |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | officers in criminal matters; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In 2009, after operating the firm for two decades, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Mr. Greenwood was hired as the police integrity division chief of |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | the Harris County District Attorney's Office; four years later, he |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | transferred to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, where he served |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | as commander of the Office of Inspector General and the Internal |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Affairs and General Investigations Divisions; his superb |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | performance in those roles led to his appointment as assistant |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | chief deputy with the Harris County Precinct 3 Constable's Office |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | on January 1, 2017; a graduate of the FBI National Academy, he also |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | gave back to the law enforcement community as an instructor at the |

| 27 | 28 | | Houston Police Academy, the Texas Department of Public Safety |

| 28 | 29 | | Academy, and several other agencies across the country; and |

| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Chief Greenwood enjoyed a rewarding family life with |

| 30 | 31 | | his wife, Leatha, and four children, Charles, Timothy, Catherine, |

| 31 | 32 | | and Lauren; and |

| 32 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Although tragedy has brought an untimely end to a |

| 33 | 34 | | life of honorable public service, Clint Greenwood will long be |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | remembered for his devotion to his loved ones, his contributions as |

| 35 | 36 | | both an attorney and a peace officer, and his longtime dedication to |

| 36 | 37 | | the people of Harris County; now, therefore, be it |

| 37 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
