H.R. No. 154 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends mourned the loss of Ciro Ochoa Sr. of Mission, who passed away on December 6, 2015; and WHEREAS, The son of Jose Maria and Guadalupe Ochoa, Ciro Ochoa was born in La Feria, where he grew up with two brothers, Jose Maria and Humberto, and two sisters, Delia and Carmela; answering his nation's call to duty, he served proudly as a member of the U.S. armed forces during the Korean War; and WHEREAS, After his stint in the military, Mr. Ochoa returned to his hometown, where he lived until moving to Mission in 1964; an esteemed member of the community, he owned and operated a beauty salon for many years before his retirement; and WHEREAS, Mr. Ochoa shared a rewarding marriage with Maria de la Luz Ochoa that spanned more than six decades, and he was the proud father of three sons, Ciro Ochoa Jr. and his wife, Lillian, Eli Ochoa and his wife, Velma, and Lino Ochoa and his wife, Kristy; later in life, he was blessed with eight grandchildren; and WHEREAS, A man of strong religious faith, Mr. Ochoa attended St. Paul's Catholic Church; he treasured the time he spent with his family, and he in turn delighted his loved ones with his hearty sense of humor; and WHEREAS, Possessed of a warm and generous nature, Ciro Ochoa earned the respect and admiration of all who were privileged to know him, and he will forever be a source of inspiration to those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Ciro Ochoa Sr. and extend heartfelt sympathy to his family and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ciro Ochoa Sr. Muñoz, Jr. ______________________________ Speaker of the House I certify that H.R.
